We had a blast working with the team over at CarolinaEast, and look forward to sharing the finished product soon!

We were recently honored with another award: a Merit Award at the 2011 Service Industry Ad Awards. The recognition was for the CarolinaEast “Momisms” outdoor campaign, created and implemented by The Sumner Group’s Vice President Michael Sumner, former Account Exec Sean Smith and Graphic Designer John Westfall, in partnership with the Public Relations team at CarolinaEast.

For the second consecutive year, The CardioVascular Advertising Awards, sponsored by Creative Images, Inc and Marketing Healthcare Today, recently gave CarolinaEast Health System and The Sumner Group a Gold award. The recognition was for the Heart Care television campaign, created and implemented by The Sumner Group’s Vice President Michael Sumner and Creative Director Anthony Rodriguez, in partnership with the Public Relations team at CarolinaEast.

We’re glad to announce our newest attorney client, Honey Law Firm, PA. Based in Hot Springs, Arkansas, Honey Law Firm specializes in tax law, bankruptcies, loan modifications and debt relief. We’re currently hard at work rolling out their new identity and collateral, and our web division (Carolina Web Pros) is developing a great website to complement the firm’s rebrand. da Vinci® Campaign Update

One of the foremost projects we’ve been working on has been the marketing campaign for CarolinaEast Health System’s da Vinci® System robotic assisted surgery.

Regarding that campaign, CarolinaEast’s Public Relations Director, Megan McGarvey, noted that at a recent Robotics Steering Committee meeting, the da Vinci® reps chose the TV campaign The Sumner Group created as the only one to be aired during their national conference. The featured spot was selected from a field of over 100 campaigns from other medical centers and health systems around the country.

According to the surgeon featured in the TV spot, Dr. Jeffrey Michelson, The Sumner Group “must be really good if they can produce that from what seemed to be only slightly organized chaos that day.”

“Kudos to you and your team,” said McGarvey. “Once again…you worked your magic for CarolinaEast. I truly appreciate all your efforts on our behalf. I will (and have) recommended you to others looking for quality, affordable production.

“You are the best!!”

CarolinaEast da Vinci® Campaign

As part of our ongoing partnership with CarolinaEast Health System, we’ve recently completed work on the TV portion of a full multi-media campaign promoting the da Vinci® System. A revolution in minimally invasive surgery, this robotic assisted technology allows the surgeons of CarolinaEast to control the procedure in three-dimensional clarity from a console nearby the patient. Through very small incisions, the surgeons’ skilled wrist, hand and finger movements are translated to corresponding micro-movements by the system. Throughout the procedure, the surgical team provide support at the patient’s side.

This type or surgery means shorter hospital stays, less pain, less risk of infection, less blood loss, less scarring, shorter recovery time and a faster return to the patient’s everyday routine.

TSG Tasked With Garden Parkway Project

The Sumner Group just submitted and received approval on the logo/brand for the Garden Parkway, a pay-as-you-go road project designed to positively impact Gaston County’s employment, economic and population growth in the coming years.

We’re proud to be working with the Gaston Regional Chamber, the Gaston County Economic Development Commission and other community groups to help our neighbors understand the importance of this connector to our community.

In years past, there were objections raised by concerned citizens for both the 321 project and the I-85 right of way purchase, roadways that eventually proved to be vital in Gaston County’s growth, development and accessibility to neighboring regions. Though objections have been raised by citizens regarding the proposed Garden Parkway, we feel this project represents the same opportunity for growth in the 21st century as the above roadway projects did in the 20th. Despite the misinformation circulating about this undertaking, the facts about the Garden Parkway prove that it is a forward-thinking venture that will benefit our friends, family and neighbors, and we look forward to lending our expertise to its success.
